Over the past couple of years, Asia Property have noticed an increase in the number of tourists choosing to rent a luxury home during their stay in Hua Hin. Many are surprised to learn just how cost effective renting a luxury home is compared to hotel accommodation; if you’re holidaying with your family or a group of friends, the savings can be enormous, but even if you’re traveling alone or with a partner you can rent a fabulous luxury home for less than the price of an average hotel room.
But it’s not just about saving money; renting offers a number of fantastic benefits. Below, we describe some of those benefits and suggest why many are choosing to rent a luxury home in the sun.
The Space
The advantages, especially for a family, are endless. The amount of space you have to relax or be alone is just like home. Everybody can do their own thing, be it watching TV or a DVD, playing a game or reading a book or magazine, which is almost impossible when you are all cramped up in hotel rooms.
One thing that can be frustrating is the lack of space for clothes in hotels. Many rental homes have walk-in wardrobes with plenty of drawers to accommodate even the most ambitious packer.
The Pool
When staying in a hotel there’s nothing worse than getting down to the pool only to find that all the sun-loungers are occupied or have been ‘reserved’, by the crafty break-of-dawn-towel-wielding-folk. Perhaps the biggest attraction of renting is the luxury of having your own private swimming pool. It’s a real treat to go for a swim or sunbathe by the pool without having to dodge yelping toddlers or dive-bombing teenagers. The Kitchen
One of the best things about being on holiday is being able to eat out as often as you like without feeling guilty about it. Hua Hin is well-known for its fabulous fresh seafood restaurants and you also have a wide range of international cuisine to choose from. Unfortunately, many people do not get to sample as many of the various restaurants as perhaps they should because they feel obliged to, or are coerced into dining at the hotel where they’re staying. A lot of the bigger hotels promote meal packages which appear to be good value but are designed to encourage guests to dine at the hotel restaurants as often as possible. Staying in rented accommodation gives you the option to eat and drink whatever and whenever you please.
Unlike a typical hotel room, most holiday rental homes include fully-fitted kitchen facilities. You don't have to eat out for every meal (although you can you want too!). For some, a trip out to one of the local food markets is a great experience. Browse the stalls and pick up fresh meats and vegetables, herbs and spices galore. The adventurous might fancy attempting to cook some traditional Thai dishes. Alternatively you could just get some burgers and steaks, invite some friends round and enjoy a BBQ by the pool.
The Location
Some people worry about not staying right in the centre of Hua Hin, but as the town centre gets busier and more developed, staying just outside of the centre can actually be preferential as it offers you peace and quiet and space to relax. Asia Property’s luxury holiday rental homes are located in the Baan Hua Na area, nestled beneath the hills that surround Hua Hin, yet just a short distance from the town and beach. There are a number of easy transport options available to you. You could rent a car or use Tuk Tuk’s or taxis to get about, which are available all day and night, are very convenient and reasonably priced.

Amy Glazebrook is from Devon, England and has been holidaying in Hua Hin with her husband John for the past five years. The first two years they stayed at one of the large Hotels, but for the past three years they have rented a luxury rental home from Asia Property. We asked how her different experiences compare.
What made you decide to rent the first time?
"We’d stayed at one of the big hotels in Hua Hin and thought the standard was very good and had no complaints. A good friend of mine suggested that we try renting a holiday home for a change. I was a bit unsure at first but she convinced me it was a good idea so I spoke to my husband and we decided to give it a try".
Why were you a bit unsure at first, what were you concerned about?
"We’d never tried renting before and I’m always apprehensive of new things, plus I was worried it wouldn’t be as relaxing and easy as staying in a hotel."
And was it?
"In fact it was completely the opposite. We were picked up at the airport, and driven directly to the house. The second I stepped through the door and saw the beautiful furniture and how much space there was, I knew we’d made the right decision. It’s like having the presidential suite at a hotel - only better! There’s a maid service and people come to clean the pool and look after the garden so it’s completely hassle free."
What do you like the most about renting?
"Without doubt I’d have to say the pool - having your own pool is pure bliss. I’m a bit of an early bird so being able to wake up go for a swim is just fantastic."
What do you think of the location of Asia Property’s rental homes?
"Stunning, you’ve got the hills surrounding you, lush tropical gardens. It’s a lovely peaceful environment and you feel completely at ease and detached from any worries."
Does not being right in the centre of town bother you?
"Not at all, in fact, I’d say it’s an advantage. It only takes about five minutes to get into town, which we do most evenings for dinner and a few drinks. Getting there and back is simple as there’s always tuk tuks and taxis about."
What would you say to those who are thinking of renting a holiday home in Hua Hin?
"Go for it, there’s so many advantages, you won’t regret it."
